History
Moorings was developed from the late 1950s onward as one of north-of-downtown Naples' earliest beach-access neighborhoods. The Moorings Property Owners Association maintains private beach access for residents — a perk that predates the gated-community era and remains structurally part of the deed bundle.
Character
A predominantly single-family neighborhood of mid-century homes and steady new-construction replacement, with a separate strip of low-rise condominiums on the Gulf. Mature trees and quiet streets distinguish it from the higher-density neighbors immediately south (Park Shore) and north (Pelican Bay).
Lifestyle
Private MPOA beach access, the Four Seasons Resort Naples (formerly the Naples Beach Hotel) on the Gulf, and quick north-or-south reach to either downtown or Waterside Shops define the convenience. Bicycle and golf-cart culture is part of daily life — most errands stay west of US-41.
